Three men were sentenced to prison last week after pleading guilty to charges that they robbed a 40-year-old Bremerton man in January after he was knocked out with a baseball bat.
Casey R. Scott, 24, of Bremerton and Trevor L. Hogans, 21, of Silverdale, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and were sentenced to six years in prison on Aug. 11, according to documents filed in Kitsap County Superior Court.
Jairo E. Portillo, 22, of Silverdale pleaded guilty to the same charge and received a 65-month sentence, or about 5 ½ years in prison.
A fourth suspect in the case, Esperanza A. Hogans, 20, of Silverdale, pleaded guilty to first-degree rendering criminal assistance in the case and was sentenced to six months in the Kitsap County jail.
The man was walking in the 3500 block of Pine Road early Jan. 14 when he was attacked by the three men, Bremerton police reports said. He was hit with a softball bat, which knocked him out, and his wallet and backpack were taken.
A Kitsap County Sheriff's deputy who happened to be in the area saw the suspects running and getting into a car, driven by Esperanza Hogans. The deputy eventually found the vehicle stopped in a driveway with its lights off. The four suspects inside were arrested and the bat, the man's wallet and his backpack were found inside as well.
The 40-year-old had to be flown to Harborview Medical Center with injuries after the assault.

Only six years? How about six years plus the victim gets to whack each of them in the head once with a bat right before they're tossed into the cell with Bubba? At least the punks are out of the gene pool for a few years.

It's too bad we can not just chop off a hand. That would make more "would be" criminals think twice before doing something stupid.

This is not justice, they should be sentenced to having their heads slammed with baseball bats until they are knocked out, and then sent to a holding cell if they survive.

I have to agree with everybody here...well, sort of. I have ZERO tolerance for this stuff so I'd take it a step further. I won't say here what I would like happen to them because my comment will be removed. Use your imagination.

I don't think you folks are using your imagination enough.
The Army needs more people. These guys could serve as human land mine detectors for 6 years - if they lasted that long. Just point them to a big stretch of dirt and order them to stomp around and stuff.
Kind of like what the Burmese soldiers were doing to the civilians in Rambo IV.

Yeah, knocked on the head.....wait WTF???
After knocking them on the head they would probably become "disabled" and thus become a 24/7 terrorist because the 450.00 a month isn't quite enough money to support their drug habit.
Send them ALL to afganistan to "represent" their local gang by being point men for REAL AMERICANS. Better yet, send them to my house.....ANYTIME.....I have a need for fresh meat for my dogs, it might take me a while to hear the screams coming from the yard......................I sleep heavy...lol
